Home Tour

Here is how the room looked when we moved in;  dark cedar siding on the walls, an old linoleum floor and a free standing pantry (tucked into the left corner).  The room lies between the garage and the kitchen so it serves as a nice mud room/ drop zone as well.  It's big enough to fit a table and the kitchen itself features only an island for sitting, so I decided to call it the "breakfast room".  So far I'm the only person to have actually eaten breakfast in here, though we have used it for dinner on occasion 😄

This room was all me and I'm super proud of how it turned out!  After removing the shelving, old blinds and a ton of nails, I painted the walls in beige.  The dark pantry I refinished in white and moved it into the kitchen and the floor I redid using the same gray floor paint from my bathroom post.  After that it was all decorating, check it out:

Where the pantry used to be is a large cabinet that I use to store and display all of my fake bake breakfast foods.  I'll share what's inside next week, but for now you can click here if you want to see more about the piece itself.

The dresser is another thrifted and refinished find (same furniture post that I just linked) and in it I keep my cookie cutter collection.

Tucked into the corner by my breakfast cabinet is another mouse hole, similar to the one in my front hall.

The open shelving of the breakfast cabinet is empty as I had just packed away my summer fake bake cherry collection.  I like to use this room to display a lot of my seasonal collection.

This side of the room had another window, but looks into the dining room instead of outside.  In front of it is an old record cabinet that I repainted (again, that furniture link 😆).  Inside of it I keep my ever growing collection of silicone molds and baking pans.

Continuing to the left is yet another refurbished piece that used to be in the bedroom of our old house.  Here I use it right next to the garage door so that my Husband has a spot for all of his hats, pocket stuff, lunch box, etc. when he comes in and out of work.  Up top is a deer skull named Hobart and a ceramic ram that I spray painted gold.  I call him Mr. Ram E.  😂

I didn't get a pic but if you continued further to the right you would see that I left the old hooks in place and added a small shelf.  It's a great place for shoes, jackets and backpacks.

And there you have it, our breakfast room!
