Starting with my thrifted shadowbox I painted it in beige and sketched out my floor plan in pencil.
Like my mini laundry room, I decided to make this a two story room.
By gluing craft sticks together I made a floor that I glued into place above the stairs and painted everything in white and gray. Do you notice the white vertical beam? That's a trimmed down craft stick that I painted and glued on. It gives more dimension to the staircase as well as provides a bit more support for the upper floor.
These photos show you how I went about making the bathtub - I began with a base of trimmed down craft sticks, added the two sides and then filled in the ends. I kept the dimensions really simple and used a width of three sticks for every side of the tub.
I painted the tub white and glued down.
For my sink I had to get creative. I took a doll's hamburger box (think American Girl doll sized accessories), painted it white and used a gray sharpie to detail a cabinet. The yellow basket is from Barbie and I thought it could serve as the sink.
After painting the sink gray I glued it to the box and then glued the box to the upper floor. The mirror, like so many of my other mini rooms, is the inside of a photo frame sticker. Rather than use the framed shaped sticker I took out inside shape from the sticker page backing, colored it in gray and stuck it to the wall.
Rather than make an actual toilet I opted for a toilet closet - it's just three craft sticks glued to make a privacy wall. The wall shelves are also craft sticks and the accessories are all Barbie. Some I repainted but the duck, bar of soap and yellow bottle I left as is. The tiny plants are just bits of greenery cut from faux bushes and the bath towel is another Barbie item. I made the toilet paper role by cutting a small rectangle of fabric, rolling it up with glue and then gluing it to the wall (the hanger detail I drew on in Sharpie). The ceiling light is a button and I tucked a few other buttons here and there as well.
And that's my miniature bathroom!
