Christmas Tree

In the family room is where we keep our biggest tree, the one that holds our family ornaments.  Husby and I have gotten an ornament every year since we were children and so have our kids - so this tree is pretty full!  This is also the tree where we put our wrapped gifts, and spend time together on Christmas morning.

Here is almost the exact same tree if you want to purchase it yourself, but It's not going to look as full as it does in the ad pictures.  I add garland to all of my trees to fatten them up. This post is really old (from before I re-branded), but it shows you exactly how I add the garland to my faux trees.

Christmas Deer Cloche

Near the TV I have a collection deer in glass domes.
This post will show you how I made the largest one.

Holiday Decorating

Over by the fireplace is a plate of faux cookies and milk, and my ceramic trees.

Vintage Ceramic Trees

As a child of the 80s, I remember these ceramic trees fondly!  The large one is a vintage piece that I picked up at a yard sale.  The tiny one is a recent Walmart version and can be found here.

Holiday Decorating Christmas Fake Bakes

The cookies are salt dough and you can make them yourself using this tutorial.
I also have this tutorial for the faux milk.

And there you have it, our holiday ready family room.

  2. This is so fun! The faux cookies as decoration is just darling. We, too, get a new ornament (or two) every year, so our tree is full as well. Thanks for sharing this post at the Will Blog for Comments #14 linkup. :) Hope to see you again next week.

  3. That is lovely! We ended up buying a second tree since our tree just could not hold all of our ornaments. We started buying our boys an ornament each year and one family ornament from our travels but it was a tradition started (and continued!) by my parents then my husband's parents joined in too so we all get a few ornaments each year. I love that every ornament is a memory and I know once they move out of the house I'll miss seeing them all mixed together on the trees.
