Bluebird of Happiness

Want a silly, whimsical bit of spring decor to put on your shelf?
Here is how I made a faux bluebird of happiness:

I have these little birds in my craft supplies that are probably from some garage sale or thrift store, I can't even remember! I chose a blue one since this project is a "bluebird of happiness".

(I found these similar ones on Amazon)

Next, I needed a container. Whenever I buy a candle I always choose based on scent first, jar second - if it isn't a jar I can recycle then I won't buy it. Needless to say, I have a bin in my craft room full of candle jars ready to use! I grabbed this one for my little birdie, but you could easily purchase a jar at any store if you needed to.

Starting with these little Dollar Tree mossy bits, I hot glued them into the bottom of the jar.

Using more hot glue I positioned the little birdie on top.

A label made with my Cricut and the jar was complete.

Here is how the jar looks if you turn the label towards the back.

Now here is a confession - I'm sharing this post as a potential spring decor item, but I actually made my little bluebird jar for Halloween! I have a huge set of potions and ingredients (you can see them here) that include all kinds of things like dragon scales and snowflakes and mermaid tears... Why not a bluebird of happiness as well? It might seen a little morbid to some, but it isn't as bad as my blackbird pie 😄

And that's how I made my Bluebird of Happiness.
