Starting with a set of thrifted green ornaments that I picked up for a couple of dollars, I spray painted them in a chocolate brown. You can always just purchase brown ornaments if you want to skip this step, but I like to recycle 😉 And though I stuck to chocolate, you could also switch up your cake paint as well.
After that it was as simple as gluing a cupcake liner to the bottom, adding a dollop of light weight spackle to the top, and sticking on a faux cherry!
If you want to color your spackle, just mix in a bit of paint before applying. Careful though, too much will thin out the consistency of the spackle and make it unable to keep it's shape.
And there you have it, an easy to make cupcake tree ornament!
