As part of our Lalaloopsy birthday party decor, I decided to make up a few paper plate 'buttons'.
This was super fast and easy, check it out:
Supplies:
-Paper plates in dinner and dessert sizes (I used white, light pink and hot pink)
-Black construction paper
-Pencil & scissors
-Pill bottle, or any object that will allow you to trace a circle of the appropriate size
(You can click here to see the rest of the materials gathered for this party or here to see the invitations)
Tracing
After deciding how many plates that I wanted to make (16), I multiplied that by 4 to calculate how many 'button holes' needed to be cut out. Then I started tracing circles onto the black construction paper.
Tip: Layer two pieced of construction paper on top of each other to reduce your cutting time!
Button Holes
I used a hot glue gun to add four paper circles to each of the plates.
Single Layer
The large hot and light pink plates I made into single layer buttons......
Double Layer
.....while combining the large white dinner plate with the small hot pink dessert plate for a more colorful look.
This was really easy, just glue four black circles to a small plate and then glue that small plate to the center of a larger one.
Side Note: You can see that not all of the button hole circles are perfectly round, don't worry about it. Once everything is done and on display, it will barely be noticeable :)
