Starting with the big cabinet in my breakfast room, here are the close-ups:
The layer cake is made with foam rounds from Dollar Tree. I painted each foam round with acrylic paint and then added a layer of lightweight spackle for icing. While the 'icing' was still wet I added faux berries to the sides and stuck another round of foam on top. Having the layer of spackle higher in the middle of the round helps each foam round to better stay in place. I made the small berries in clay using this silicone mold set and the larger berries can be found here.
The cupcakes are from Dezicakes and can be found here.
The cherry topped cupcakes I purchased from Dezicakes, but don't seem to be available now. You can use this link though to browse the current selection. The strawberry topped cupcakes I made like this and used these strawberries.
Again using Dollar Tree foam rounds, I glued three together for this red, white and blue cake. The icing is lightweight spackle tinted with acrylic paint and I piped it on using an icing bag.
The tiny dish is one that I picked up at a thrift store. I filled it with foam (that I glued in place) and then spread lightweight spackle on top. The strawberries are the same ones that I linked above and the blueberries you can find here
The Dezicakes trio can be purchased here.
Over on the left side of the buffet is a tiered tray full of goodies. The cookies are salt dough painted in acrylic and some are topped with lightweight spackle. The embellishments are small beads and puffy paint.
The cupcakes (large and small) are made just like in the link I posted above and the star candies are plaster in silicone molds and painted in acrylic/ topped with puffy paint. The tiny waffle sandwiches are clay that I formed in round and rectangular silicone molds, painted with acrylic and then stuck together with a bit of lightweight spackle in between.
The layered sponge cakes are made using colorful sponges and more spackle - I have a tutorial post that I'll share in the future.
On the right side of the buffet is a collection of popsicles and ice cream bars. The freedom pops and chocolate stars are plaster and the tiny ice cream bars are clay. All were made with silicone molds, painted in acrylic and then embellished with puffy paint. I used this mold for the freedom pops, this mold for the ice cream bars and this pan for the chocolate stars.
Off to the side you can see a bit of a blue mug topped in whipped cream. It was made like this.
