I have fun in here, it's the only place in the house where my obsession with fake food is (somewhat) acceptable! :D
The refrigerator area.
I found the miniature food magnets out treasure hunting a couple of years ago for .10 each. They remind me of a couple of kitchens I used to visit as a child, so I couldn't pass them up.
The loaves of bread and croissants are all Styrofoam! I found them one day while treasure hunting with my Sister. They were with a big faux cheese and I saw them before we even got out of the car. I picked up the bag and the lady said, "If you want them, you can have them for free".......apparently her Husband and friends teased her frequently about her fake food and she wanted to be rid of it. I'm ok with the teasing I told her, I always wanted to live in a dollhouse and pretend food reminds me of exactly that!
......For a minute Husby did think I had put out fresh croissants, but now he's on to me ;)
Stove and cabinets above the stove.
My Granny had a large collection of cast iron pots and pans that she had on display in her kitchen. The collection now lives at Aunt Kay's house, but I thought I would find a couple of small ones to recreate the memory. The tiny one I picked up while in Kentucky on vacation, and the larger one was a treasure hunting find. Next to them I have a couple of miniature wire whisks that really did come from Granny's kitchen.

I have lots of little things on top of the cabinetry.
The canister jars and teapot were treasure hunting finds from Granny herself. They match my dinnerware, which she also found, and gave to me way back in 2001 when I was getting married.
The clear glass punchbowl used to belong to her.

The copper bowl was a treasure hunting find from Husby. He found the bowl and a couple of planters (not pictured) when someone was going to throw them out. Literally they were on the side of the road! A bit of copper cleaner and the bowl was another perfect addition to my kitchen decor.

My Grandpa makes his own wine and the bottles are his. I like them because they are pretty green and void of commercial labels. Instead they have home made labels written in his hand writing, which adds to their charm!
Right before we moved in I was treasure hunting and found the ivy covered hat boxes. It was $5 for the set and I had no idea what I was going to do with them....but I knew I needed them for something! It turned out that they were perfect for the new kitchen. I mixed them in with some faux ivy to soften the look of the cabinetry.
The ivy was another great find. I was needing more for the kitchen when I stumbled upon an entire jumbo trash bag full of it for only $1! I filled up one of our bath tubs with hot water and detergent to hand wash all of it. I like to wash everything that I find used, especially if it's going into the kitchen!
(Side note: Even faux greens can bleed color when wet. I used old towels to cover the bathroom floor so as not to stain anything.)

The stained glass hummingbird was a gift from my Father-In-Law, he made it by hand! The dark green glass is a special kind that changes depending upon how the light hits it. Sometimes (as in the photo) it appears to be dark green, but other times it is green with all the colors of the rainbow on the surface.
See the cactus plants? They. Are. Real. Can you believe it?! I actually have real live actual plants in my kitchen. They only need to be watered once a month, so I can deal with that ;)
And that brings me to the African Violets, which are not real. Heehee! These were actually bought in a real live store (gasp, I went shopping!) I used to work in a florist before quitting to stay home with the kiddos, and these were a gift to myself that last week. They reminded me of my Aunt's kitchen and I had to have them.
I would visit my Aunt Linda's house as a child and she had three fake African Violets on her kitchen window sill. I loved them! .....and the artificial Ficus tree she had in her living room. I think that's when my obsession with artificial florals began....I blame her...:D
Above the cabinets on the sink side of the kitchen/ top of the microwave.
Two of the glass bowls were treasure hunting finds. The large glass bowl holding the grapes was another of Granny's. I also got the strawberry print colander from her house.
The faux peppers I picked up at Dollar Tree and the grapes I found treasure hunting. The entire bag of them was only $2 a couple of years ago.
Remember when I mentioned the fake cheese? Here it is, in a glass dessert dome on my kitchen table. I mixed in some artificial crackers and berries as well. My Baby Girl loves to play with this!
My Bakers Cabinet
A hand-me-down from my Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law, this is my MOST favorite part of the kitchen! What could I possibly love more that fake food or fake flowers?!?! Cupcakes and cakes and ice creams!!!

On the top are a couple of ceramic muffins and cherry pie that I found treasure hunting over the years. The large cupcake I found at Kohls. The smaller cupcake is actually a Scentsy warmer and was a Birthday Gift from my Mother-In-Law. I love to fill it with anything smelling like a baked good ;)
The middle shelf contains ice cream cones, cupcakes, a slice of cake and a sundae that were all purchased from the Florist I used to work for. The overturned bowls are shaped like ice cream cones and I found them treasure hunting for .25 each.
See the little ceramic lady? She was a gift from my Mom. Holding a tiny pie she also doubles as an incense burner. When you light the incense the smoke comes out of the pie, so cute! My Mom bought her from Avon many years ago when I was a child. I always loved watching her hold the little 'steaming' cherry pie!
The bottom shelf has another of the ice cream shaped bowls, a small cupcake and a waffle cone that I also found treasure hunting. The four large cupcakes I also purchased from the Florist, and used them as decor for Baby Girl's 1st Birthday.
In the back left corner are two jars of faux eggs.....because I found faux eggs and I love glass jars and you use eggs to make cakes? I don't know, sometimes I even bewilder myself! Hahaha! I just like them, that's all! :D
On top of the jars is a little plastic brownie, complete with whip cream and a cherry.

I have a couple of cupcake ornaments that I keep hanging from one of the doorknobs. They are intended for a miniature Christmas tree, but I like them out year round.
Lastly is my life sized Pillsbury Doug Boy figure. I found him treasure hunting two summers ago and fell in love. He just had to come home with me and live in the cupcake cabinet. I have him positioned so that he's 'peeking' out into the kitchen.

Here I have a glass cake stand with one of my cook books inside. I thought a cake mix book was appropriate ;)
Next to that are a couple of framed cupcake prints. One of these was a gift bag and the other wrapping paper. I simply cut out the parts I liked and stuck them in a frame.
Lastly are a few jars of baking ingredients/ decorations. The large jar is brown sugar and chocolate chips. One miniature jar contains chocolate sprinkles and the other rainbow sprinkles.
Right off of our kitchen is the laundry room, so I thought I'd include it here.
On the wall I have a growth ruler that I made myself after seeing them on Pinterest. I like it because we can take it with us when ever we move, as opposed to writing on the wall itself. My Baby Girl was already a few years old when I made it, but that wasn't a problem. I just went back through her Dr. records to see her heights for each Birthday and put them on the ruler.
The wall opposite the washer and dryer is where I have Baby Girl's framed artwork. Above the cabinets I have a couple of linen lined baskets, a faux fern and our folded beach towels. I like the pop of color they add to the room.
