Spring Happenings

A little bit of what's been happening this spring:

Treasure Hunting & Cleaning

You know, I almost love cleaning my bounty as much as I love finding it in the first place.  And then I get to blog about it too, What-What???  :D :D :D

(You can click here to read more about these items)

Flower Picking

The Little Man likes to pick me flowers.  I like that because they are fake, I can just stick them back in the pot when he's done.  Aren't those chubby hands the cutest?

(You can click here to read more about my imaginary gardening)

Flowers From Husby

When the fields start blooming Husby keeps me supplied with fresh bouquets ;)

Mushrooms & Wild Asparagus

Husby likes to find good things to eat too, these he found one afternoon with my Dad.

That's a little bit of what I've been up to, how about you?
I hope you enjoyed the post, thanks for stopping by!

Bakers Rack (Thanks Mom!)

I got a new furniture piece for the kitchen; a bakers rack from my Mom!
She has been cleaning and organizing her house lately, and decided that this rack needed to go.  I was very happy to take it off of her hands!

Keep reading to see photos all about my new rack:

Top Shelf - Faux Eggs & a Mini Cake

Who doesn't keep a couple of jars of fake eggs in their kitchen, I mean come on!  :D :D :D

(You can click here to read more about my artificial mini cakes)

Second Shelf - Cookies!

These cookies used to live on my bakers cabinet, but moved to the rack now.
They are very happy with their new home ;)

(You can click here to read more about these preserved cookies)

Second Shelf - Another Faux Cake

What is the problem with being a creative entrepreneur?  You want to keep one of everything you make, that's what! Good thing I got a new rack ;)

Middle Shelf - Cake, Cookies and my Faux Cheese

My fake cheese and cracker dome used to sit on the kitchen table, but was a pain to move out of the way for every meal.  I like it much better over here.

Bottom Shelves - Extra Dishes

I needed a place to stash these platters and I needed something to fill in the bottom of the backers rack shelves.....so here you go.....:D

Drawer

The rack also contains a drawer which I love, but haven't really done much with yet.  I thought about reorganizing my sprinkles into here, but that would be an absolute disaster once the Little Man discovered them!

So for now the drawer contains a few odds and ends:  A plate, cake mix cook book, faux brownie and pie and a wifi signal booster (not pictured).  Access to internet is absolutely necessary out in the back yard - Husby likes to watch TV while he gardens :D :D :D

A Secret:  This cake mix cook book is called "I Can't Believe it's From a Cake Mix".  I have been searching for this book for probably three years now and finally found it for $1.  But have I read it?  Nope!
:D :D :D

Bakers Cabinet

I can't leave out my original bakers cabinet, can I?  Ok, so to be fair this piece is actually probably called a hutch.  But since I devote it to all things baking, it's my bakers cabinet ;)

(You can click here to learn more about this cabinet)

Cabinet & Rack

And here are the two of them together.  I'm happy to say that the addition of this new rack has been an easy one and everyone is getting along nicely :D

I hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for stopping by!

Hair Accessory Fun (Spring 2016)

Getting Crafty

Remember this post where I shared a few photos from the workroom?  I used those flowers for my spring 'gardening', but not before putting a few aside for a different project.

I have this thing about hair accessories.  If I'm being honest, I don't really wear them that often, but I love them anyway.  Besides, they look really cute hanging up together in the closet ;)

Any time I begin a new project I tend to swipe one or two extra flowers to add to my accessory collection  and this 'gardening' session was no different

Keep reading to see my newest little cuties:

Pink Hydrangea

Red & Pink Asters

Pansies

I decided to add a little beading to the centers of these to dress things up a bit.  These ended up being my favorite this time as I didn't have a whole lot of blues yet.

Now I'm off to prep my treasure hunting address list for tomorrow ;)
I hope you enjoyed the post, thanks for stopping by!

Treasure Hunting! (Spring 2016)

I've been out and about, take a look at my fabulous finds:

Milk Glass Goblets

I found both of these beauties at the same sale.  The one on the left was $3 and the smaller one on the right was $4.  Seems kind of backwards, but I love them just the same!

(You can click here to see where I ended up putting these)

Potted Geranium

This little fabric cutie was .25

(You might remember seeing this geranium  here)

Holiday Odds & Ends

I found all of this for .75 and plan to use it to spruce up my mini trees that belong with the Christmas village.  That is if somebody quits taking all my stuff to decorate her dollhouse with....... :D

(You can click here if you want to see my holiday village)

Bowl of Lemons

This white ceramic bowl and lemons was $2.

Now I know I 'need' either lemons or limes....I can't remember what I already have!  Soooo, I got these thinking that if I need lemons, cool!  If I need limes....then I guess I'll pull out the acrylic paint and paint them lime green.  We'll see how that goes......:D :D :D

I hope you enjoyed this treasure hunting post, thanks for stopping by!

Spring Decor Update (2016)

I haven't added a whole lot to my spring decor this year, but I thought I'd share a little bit anyway!

(You can click here or here if you want to see the rest of my spring decor)

Milk Glass

Treasure hunting has started (update coming soon)!  I've managed to find a couple of new milk glass pieces already and added them to my kitchen window display.  They look great with my faux violets, and I love the freshness they add to the window.

Carrots

I found these ceramic carrots during a treasure hunting excursion last year.  I ended up tucking them into a large trifle bowl.

Geraniums

The darker pink geranium I already owned (treasure hunting).  The lighter pink one I found this year (also treasure hunting).  I thought they looked great nestled together.

**********

That's it for now but I'll be back soon with a treasure hunting update, as well as my new bakers rack (thanks Mamaw!!!)

Thanks for stopping by!
