I found some really fun ice cream containers while thrifting and knew I had to turn them into a collection of fake bakes. Here's how:

Here is how the containers looked when I found them, three at $1.99 each. I think they are supposed to be either drink cups or ice cream bowls, I'm not sure!
Using foam balls, I cut a bit from the bottom and hot glued them onto the containers. I used more than half of each ball so that the ice cream would have a full, rounded look.
Using a spatula I smeared on joint compound to look like ice cream.
This brand goes on pink and dries white.
Here is one fully dry. The texture is nice, but the color was a little too white for me.
Using an acrylic paint in Antique White made the ice cream look a little more appealing.
While the paint was drying on the scoops, I made up some faux cherries. These are just tiny foam balls painted in Hot Rod Red.
Every good ice cream cone needs whipped cream and a cherry on top! I spooned some more of the joint compound into an icing bag...
...and applied just like whipped cream. While the compound was still wet I added the faux cherries.
A few fake sprinkles onto the whip were the final touch.
And that's how I made my faux large ice cream cones!
They now live in my ice cream cabinet, which you can see here.

These look so good, Jennifer! I quite liked the colour before the compound dried. You could have so many different varieties of ice cream. :) #MMBC
