Read on to learn more about how I got started, what you can find here at the studio, my personal goals for the brand as well as my personal work and educational histories:
How I Got Started
While pursuing (and completing) an advanced degree in psychology, I took a part time job as a floral clerk and over the course of 13 years a few things happened;
-I loved my degree field and enjoyed my coursework, but found myself turned off at the thought of being a counselor for the rest of my life.
-I loved working creatively in the floral shop setting, but resented the lack of personal freedom found in a chain retail setting.
-I became a mom and absolutely didn't want to work full time, so stayed on as a part time clerk years longer than I originally intended to.
-And Eventually, I became frustrated with working retail in general.
I was burned out, unhappy and wanted nothing more than to be home with my daughter full time. Thankfully, I have an awesome husband (who has always pushed me towards happiness) and he encouraged me to quit my part time job ❤ I knew that I wanted to somehow blend being a stay-at-home-mom with my passion for creativity and design, and began creating floral wedding packages to sell on Ebay.
That was fun, but I also wanted to share all of the creative things I was doing around the house, so I started my first blog: Jennifer Adams Flowers. With the success of the first blog and an Ebay storefront under my belt, I began branching out in other areas of design and opened up an Etsy shop as well. Eventually, I began to feel that my old brand 'Jennifer Adams Flowers' was too limiting and relaunched under the current brand; Studio 27 by Jennifer Adams.
What You Can Find Here
Here at the Studio I like to share my love for home decor, holidays, party planning, baking, blogging, treasure hunting, thrifting and all things crafty. I also give updates from time to time when I add new products to Etsy shop.
Goals of the Brand
When it comes my personal goals for the brand, I work to be helpful and financially savvy. That means that I like to publish a whole lot of how-to posts that are inexpensive to recreate 😉 while also striving
to be transparent in my writing and business practices. Instead of keeping everything under wraps I try to share as much helpful information as possible. For example, in an affiliate link post, I'll earn commision if the link is used for an online purchase. But if I believe that you will have better luck actually going into the store yourself, I'm going to tell you so!
I will also note that an affiliate link is present, or if the post you are reading happens to be a sponsored post - one that I was paid to write. (I could pretend that this part is just my awesomely personable business sense, but it's actually the law 😎)
Lastly, I try to avoid being too sales-y. That means that while I do share new products that I have for sale, I'll often try to work in some sort of free giveaway opportunity as well. After all, sharing is caring, right people?
