Cherry Watermelon Fake Bake Decor

Tiered Tray Summer Decor

During the warmer months I switch out my fake bakes more often because I have several summery themes to choose from.  Since most of us are ready for warmer weather, I thought that today I'd share my cherry watermelon collection.  Take a look:

On the cabinet in the breakfast room are a couple of cherry themed groupings.

The cherry chocolate cake is an old Jello mold that I spray painted in brown and then decorated with light weight spackle and faux cherries.  You can see a similar project in this tutorial.

The faux cherries can be found here and the chocolate cherry printable here.

On the right side of the same cabinet is another couple of cakes and a faux drink.  The drink I made like this and the pink cake is another spray painted Jello mold.  The white cake is layers of round foam pieces that I glued together, covered in light weight spackle and topped with faux cherries.

The watermelon drink is resin that I tinted with acrylic paint (just like in this tutorial) and the whipped drink was made in the same way as the red mug previously mentioned.

The left side features another one of those red mugs and a couple of faux cupcakes made like this.

A few more treats hang out on the buffet cabinet.

The drink is plain resin poured over fake ice cubes and the watermelon slices were made by pouring plaster into candy molds and then painting in acrylic.  The tiered tray candies and popsicles are all clay that were also formed in candy molds and painted in acrylic.

This post shows you how I made the popsicles.

Over on the right are more cupcakes.  The watermelon seed sprinkles I made with a hole punch and foam crafting sheets, the watermelon slices I purchased here.

And that's my cherry watermelon collection!

  1. Big watermelon fan here! I love your fake bakes, they are so realistic. The red mug and the faux cupcakes are my favourite! :)

  2. Wow, these are really great. You can hardly tell they are not real. I'd love to have a go myself but with so many treats around the home I've a feeling they would make me hungry all the time. I did crochet a fake cupcake once, and a Christmas pudding, but they did not look realistic like your creations.

  3. All of your fake bakes look so real and delicious. I'm a diabetic and fake is the closest I can have.
