Bakery Update

Faux Food Decor

It's been almost a full year since I shared a tour of the closet that I call 'my bakery'.  This is the space where I store all of my off season/ holiday specific fake bakes.  I've been working at decorating it as well as making the storage less cluttered looking, check it out:

The biggest change that I have made was to go back through each container and add white tissue paper.  Because my boxes are all labeled and stacked by type, there really isn't any need for me to be able to see through them.  By adding the tissue I was able to cut down on all of the extra visual 'noise' and let the decorative pieces stand out.

(All of my storage is still organized in the same way as it was before)

Flooring Update

The second biggest change was to paint the existing laminate floor using gray porch paint.  You wouldn't think such a small area would be a big deal, but the new color really freshened things up.

After changing the visuals of the storage and painting the floor, I've been tucking in lots more decorative items.  Here is a tutorial for the doughnut wall decor and here Is one for how to make the spray foam loaves of bread.

The decorations on the shelves are all detailed in my original bakery post.  The faux loaves on the right are ones I have found at yard sales/ thrift stores.

I also worked at reorganizing my stacks so that off-season unboxed items are tucked away out of sight.  You can still see one of my gingerbread houses, but the majority of Christmas is now hidden.

These after shots of the space by the door let you see more of the decor.  The blueberry muffins are spray foam in cupcake liners that I painted and then detailed using puffy paint.  I have a tutorial for the milk bottles  here.
