October 1st is just a few days away and it's time to get ready for Halloween. Come on in and see how I've decorated:

Coming in to the front hall I've got a spot to hang your robe and stash your broom 😄 The floating witch hat is hanging with clear fishing line and a thumbtack, I'll have a how-to post next week for the decorated witch robes - one of them glows in the dark.
Down below I've arranged a cauldron filled with cotton batting and a set of electric faux candles and then tucked in a few faux pumpkins and a jack-o-lantern. The candy corn pumpkins are Dollar Tree foam pumpkins that I painted with acrylic paints.
Next to my desk in the front room is a collection of captured ghosts. I made a fairy set as well - just swap the fairy cut-out for a ghost shape and you are good to go!
Also on my desk is a plant that grows skeletons. There are three little hands coming out, so I think it might be twins 😂 This post shows how I make my faux plants, just exchange some plastic bones for the fabric flowers and you can have your own!
On my dining room shelves are photos of my kids throughout the years in their Halloween costumes, as well as many faux spell books. Some of the books can be purchased from Dollar Tree while others I made myself. Here is my spell book tutorial.
In addition to my photos and spell books, the dining room shelves also contain my family of owls. The large black one I bought as is, but the small ones were made from Christmas ornaments. You can see how I did that here.
On the dining room mantle is a jar of Floo Powder. It's part of my potion and ingredient collection but it belongs at the fireplace, right?! 😄
At the hearth below is my dollhouse-turned-Halloween house and a few trees. The bottle brush trees were found as is while thrifting. The bare branch tree was an Easter decoration that I transformed - you can check it out here. And I have this full post for the dollhouse.
On top of my cookie cabinet in the dining room is a trio of Dollar Tree holiday houses that I restyled into a Halloween village. You can view that post here.
This large cloche was a thrift store find that I recycled. You can see the before and after here.
On the floor in a corner of the dining room is a cluster of cauldrons holding a skull and a dragon's egg. Next to them is a cage of skeleton fairies that rests on top of a thrifted spell book. I'll have a tutorial post for the dragon's egg soon but for now you can click here to check out the skeleton fairies.
On the dining room table is my assortment of potions and spell ingredients. This post will show you how I made the bottles and includes a free printable. If you want an updated version of the ingredient labels, I have this instant download available in my Etsy shop. My jeweled Skulls tutorial will show you how to make your own fancy friends and the small pots are made in the same way as the skeleton bone plant from the front room.
If you go to Dollar Tree in the spring you can pick up the St.. Patrick's Day pots. They are already black and look like Halloween cauldrons, I used mine for the faux plants. The large cauldron is stuffed with plastic bags to fill the interior and a piece of cardboard rests on top. I then coated it with joint compound that I colored with green acrylic paint. Just spread the mixture around and let dry to look like a brewing potion.
Surrounding the fireplace in the family room is my collection of specimens and oddities. You can find the jars of bones here, the green wood specimens here, cloches here. I will have a post detailing the gold framed bugs in the future. All of the bugs, frogs and lizards can be found in the toy section of Dollar Tree.
On the TV stand in the family room is an eyeball plant that I made a few seasons ago. You can find that tutorial here. And that wraps up the tour of our Halloween home.
