After seeing Easter bunny shaped boxes of chocolates at the grocery store, I knew I needed to make a fake bake version, check it out:

Easter Fake Bake

For this project I started with an empty Ferrero Rocher candy box.  Enjoy the candies, clean the packaging and you are ready to go!

Tip - I like to use hot water to loosen up any sticky labels.

I wanted my candies to be nestled into the box so I glued in these mini cupcake liners.  They were plain on the inside and green on the outside, so I just flipped them around before using the hot glue.  This way there is a nice pop of color visible at all times.

Using a couple of silicone ice cube trays I made my candy shapes with plaster.  Once dry I painted with acrylic and then detailed with puffy paint.

This post will walk you through using plaster.

This Amazon link will get you the larger bunny mold, but check Dollar Tree first.  I found mine there and they are only $1.25!  I wasn't able to find them on Dollar Tree's website but if you do, please add the link in the comments. Thank you!  I can't remember where I found the small bunny mold, sorry!

Here is how the finished candies look all tucked in together.  I didn't worry about trying to make them fix exactly into the compartments and just layered them however I liked.

With the candies done I moved onto the box.  A simple coating of acrylic paint in brown followed with a gold, puffy paint outline and I was happy!

And here you have the finished product, a fake bake box of Easter candies!

Here is how the empty wall space looked before.  I was keeping extra food items inside the washtub sinks and in bins underneath.  If you want to see the laundry room at move-in (before we changed the paint and flooring) you can click here.

You can read more about the fake bake pantry shelf that you see here

I found these cabinets at the thrift store for $24.99 for each set of 2!  They were double stacked with the solid doors on the bottoms and the glass doors on top, but easy to take apart with a few screws.  After separating them I sanded and painted in white.  Then my Husby added stronger wood to the backs before hanging them into the studs on the walls.

Here is how the cabinets look installed.  The two closed door sections on the far sides I'm using for actual (real food) pantry storage, but the middle glass sections feature more of my faux food collection.

And there you have it, a set of thrifted laundry room wall cabinets for only $50!  The laundry room is coming along quite nicely, I just need a couple of hanging shelves above the appliances and washtub.  I'll update soon with photos that better show you what is inside of the middle doors.

This heart shaped pan I found at the thrift store for $2 and spray painted in a cherry red.  Once that dried I brushed on all of the white using an acrylic, then followed up with gold puffy paint.

Tip:  Scrub your used pans really well before painting as any oil residue will prevent your paint from sticking properly!

I found this miniature bunny pan at a bag sale where each $3 paper bag could be filled to the brim 😍
After spray painting in white and then lavender (I changed my mind), I used puffy paint for the remaining details.

If you gently swirl the tip of the puffy paint bottle into the paint while it is still wet you can get the textured detailing.  I found it easiest to first outline the shape of the bunny including his leg lines, then go back and fill in the rest of the blue bit by bit.  That way I could swirl his fur a little before things got too dry.  Once the blue was set up I added in the white, pink  and black.

And there you have another set of pan makeovers!

Fake Bake Tiered Tray Decor

I wanted to add pantry storage for my collection of fake bake jellies, jams and breads in the laundry room.  Using a thrifted shelf, I made it happen:

Here is the shelf as I found it for $15 and then after I painted it white.

As I mentioned, it's in my laundry room, which you can see here.  Bonus - in the laundry room post photos you can see that ended up adding glass 'doors' to the shelf.  This post will show you exactly how I did that.

The next series of pictures will show you what's on each shelf:

All of the faux canned goods were made like this and the jelly jars like this.  The jars of honey, ketchup and mustard are just jars painted on the inside with acrylic painted and then labeled with my Cricut.  The crackers, cheeses and a couple of the loaves of bread I found at a garage sale.  The remaining loaves of bread I made myself like this.  The pie wall hangings are from Dollar Tree during the fall season.

And there you have it, my fake bake pantry shelf!  Don't forget to check out that laundry room link if you want to see the shelves with glass in place.
