DIY Witches Robes

 Halloween Craft

After finding a witchy looking broom at a yard sale, I thought it would be cute to make a spot in the front hall for it and a couple of witches robes - you know, you come home after a long day of broom riding and spell casting and you need a place to hang your cloaks, right? 😄

To make it happen I grabbed a couple of Halloween costume cloaks from the thrift store and decorated them myself.  Here's how:

For the first cape I used gold glitter puffy paint and added random swirls here and there in a couple of different sizes.

Note:  Depending on your fabric, it's possible for the paint to bleed through.  You can lie down a drop cloth to protect your surface if you are concerned.

The second cape has a collar that looks like it is intended for a vampire's costume.  It could be easily cut off but I decided to leave it.  For this one I used my Cricut and glow in the dark HTV to create star cut-outs that I ironed on.  During the day they look sort of grayish white, but at night they glow nicely.

My favorite site for all thing's Cricut is Jennifermaker.com.  She has fantastic tutorials and books that will teach you everything you need to know!

And there you have it, a couple of robes fit for any witch!
