Here's the playpen itself with a close-up of the patterned bottom. I love the print and was happy to see how clean it was. I already have the sleeping bag and cloth diaper bag in coordinating fabric.
A quick eBay search shows that these playpens alone run around $30-$40 at the lowest (before shipping) so this was a great deal!
These two babies were included with the playpen. The preemies were always my favorites so I was really excited! I had a bald, blue eyed baby boy like the one on the left when I was little. Now I'm hunting for the outfit he came in 😉
And better still? Alllll of these accessories in new condition. Even six pairs of clean socks! My favorite find here was the foldout growth chart. I preserved it with clear laminating sheets and hung it on one of the walls in my playhouse.
The playpen and the babies now also live in the playhouse, which you can read all about here.
I'm thinking that maybe I need to do a Cabbage Patch collection post, what do you say?

Game Prop Replica: World's Brew Bubble Bath (The Sims 3)
As I've mentioned before, I'm a long time player of The Sims games with The Sims 3 being my favorite. In that version, Sims can purchase bubble bath for use at home. I decided to make a replica of the bubble bath container for my own bathroom, check it out:

Here is how the bottle of bubble bath looks in the game.
I found this glass bottle for $2 at the thrift store and thought is was the perfect size and shape.
I first added blue paint to the inside of the bottle to get the color that I wanted. Just pour in a bit and move the bottle around until all sides are coated. I recommend leaving the lid off until all of the paint inside is dry, otherwise it might slide back down the sides and look messy.
Next, I put a large rectangle of black sticker vinyl over the existing labels. This is going to be the back of my project and I figured that covering up the pig and text would be a lot easier than trying to get them off!
Using my Cricut I cut a pink plum bob to layer on top. When playing the game, the selected character has a plum bob hovering over their heads, so this symbol made sense to me as part of the bottle's design.
Here is how the front looked, nice and clean!
Using my Cricut I cut out a rose, greenery and text.
And applied it like this. I modified the appearance a little by using only one rose and skipping the orange bands altogether. I also made up what the text should say as you can't really read the game bottle.
*Note - Text looks layered because of a shadow. The bottle's glass is so thick that there is enough space between the vinyl lettering and inside paint color to allow shadowing. I just happened to have the bottle positioned the right way when I took the picture and didn't notice until afterward!
Here is how my faux bubble bath bottle turned out. I don't really keep the bottle in the bathroom because I don't want it to get broken, but it does look nice in my toiletry storage cabinet 😍
And that's how I made my game prop replica of World's Brew Bubble Bath!

Fixing up Barbie Furniture
Last week I shared the vintage Barbie house that I decided to bring down from my attic. Here is how I fixed up the furniture and parts of the house:

The original TV, refrigerator and stove/ oven were included with the house, but were missing their stickers. The bed was missing the mattress so I replaced it with a bit of purple craft foam.
The TV was an easy fix as I just painted the screen black with acrylic paint.
The stovetop took a bit more work. I first painted the burners and clock black, then measured them for size
Using Cricut's Design Space, I made up a few images and then cut them in sticker vinyl. I chose a purple color that went with the utensils
(This photo shows the burners and clock for the stove, as well an an ice maker decal for the refrigerator)
Here is the stove/ oven before and after, such an improvement!
And here is the fridge with an ice maker decal. I painted the ice maker background and door handles in black.
In addition to fixing up the furniture, I also wanted to decorate the house a bit and printed these photos. The larger ones I just liked and thought they would make fun posters, but the tiny ones are all Barbies that I had in the 80s. I thought they could be like pictures of friends on the fridge, or fashion inspiration on the door of the closet
The photos include; Crystal Barbie, Work Out Barbie, Island Fun Barbie, Tropical Barbie and Funtime Barbie (mine was the pink one).
Using the same color vinyl as the decals, I made backgrounds for the pictures and hot glued them on top.
Aren't they cute on the fridge?
Here is a good before and after of the fridge.
The rest of the photos I put on the closet door upstairs.
The posters I put inside the closet. I like them, but didn't want to commit to having them as part of the overall decor of the house 😄
Lastly, I fixed up the flower boxes. Rather than leaving them white I painted the tops green. I also trimmed the plants to different heights and hot glued them in place so that they look more tidy.
And that's how I fixed up the Barbie furniture and decor.
In case you missed the Barbie house post, you can find it here.
