My breakfast room cabinet hosts a collection of chocolate bunnies and eggs.
The tiny bunny figurines are spray painted and will be featured in next week's post (the largest statues were created in the same way).
There are three sizes of plastic chocolate bunnies that you would find for Easter basket gifts (in the pics they are sitting on the yellow and green cake stands). The largest I found on eBay some years back, but the smallest are available from Wal Mart for less than a dollar!
The slice of cake is a triangle cut piece of foam that I painted in brown and then topped in orange tinted spackle.
The egg shaped truffles are plaster that was poured into an egg shaped silicone mold and painted in acrylic. I then used puffy paint to create the swirl topping.
The white and dark chocolate bunnies in the jar are foam and were made like this. The two jars of bunny shaped candies are again plaster with acrylic and puffy paint. One jar of chocolate eggs are plastic and the other are foam, both that I painted in brown.
The cupcakes were made like this and topped with bunnies that I made by putting clay in a candy mold.
The carrot soup printable is no longer available, but the chocolate egg print can be found here and the chocolate bunny print here.
Hanging from the window is a Wilton bunny cake pan that I spray
painted and then detailed with puffy paint.
Here are some more cake pan makeovers if you are interested:
Over on the left side of the dresser is a collection of carrot cake desserts.
The carrot/nut topped cupcakes are from Dezicakes, you can order a similar set of cupcakes here and the cake here.
The strawberries-as-carrots cupcakes I made myself. Just paint a faux strawberry in orange and then add a little orange puffy paint on top to look like icing.
The small yellow cake is foam covered in spackle and topped with faux carrots. The same faux carrots are also in the jar at the back of the cake stand.
The carrot cake printable can be found here.
On the right side of the dresser is my family of Peeps. All of the Peeps were made like this, and then I put some in jars, some on cupcakes and others in a bowl.
On the left side of my buffet are my cookies/ mini cupcakes, cupcake styled eggs and jelly beans.
All of the cookies are salt dough or clay and painted in acrylic. Some are embellished with puffy paint while others feature cinnamon.
The plastic eggs were a grocery store find a few years ago. They were pre-filled with candy for Easter egg hunts, but I bought them just because they looked like cupcakes 😉
The jelly beans are tiny bits of clay painted in acrylic.
On the right side of the buffet are my pastel ceramic eggs and Easter candies. I think I found the ceramic eggs at the thrift store, but I can't remember 😕
The box of chocolates are all plaster bunnies made like this.
The larger candies are also plaster, painted in acrylic and detailed with puffy paint.
The cupcakes are drizzled with acrylic paint and the egg embellishments are made from clay.
And that's my collection of Easter themed fake bakes!
