When I found a tiny, spooky looking, house I knew I needed to make a miniature Halloween sweet shop. Read on to see how you can create one yourself:

Here is the little cardboard house as I found it at the thrift store for $1.99. It looked as though it had been painted orange at first and then brown on top. Since I was using it for Halloween and I liked the layered coloring I decided to leave the paint as it was.
Here is a set of 6 similar cardboard houses that you can decorate however you would like.
The first thing that I did was to add some faux chocolate bars to the front. These are sections of clay that I cut into rectangular shapes, scored to create the break apart lines and then painted in acrylic once dry. I attached them to the house with hot glue.
Using plastic sprinkles and craft glue I added a textured roof. Just paint on a reasonable thick layer of glue and then press your sprinkles into place. My 'sprinkles' are the tiny plastic bits from inside of a Find It toy, but here are some similar. Unless you snag a Find It toy for a dollar at a yard sale (like I did) it's way cheaper to buy faux sprinkles. Just mix and match the colors of your choice.
I finished up the house with a few more details; the Sweet Shop sign label is two layers of puffy paint, The pumpkin and ice cream candies are clay that I pressed into a candy mold and then painted in acrylic, the dollops of whipped cream are light weight spackle and the tiny chocolate bits were made just as I made the larger bars.
And that's my Halloween sweet shop! I like to display it with the rest of my Halloween fake bakes.
